it's pretty much gaurunteed not to be p2p (pay to play) because the servers will be hosted on battle.net and not the servers WoW are ran on.
but, it will be hard to get used too if you haven't played diablo 2- since the whole atmosphere is different. Single player mode is completely different from multiplayer mode, because once you beat the game in multiplayer you concentrate on getting tricked out gear to kill each other with (dueling). If you are really good, you can play hardcore mode (die once and you have to start your character over) and once you get pretty tricked out, you can hostile and kill guys whether they are willing to duel or not which was the fun part for me hatsoff
saw the demo/intro... tbh i dont think its going to crack any nuts... or at least it didnt get my interest. Dont get me wrong, cause i played diablo 1 and also a bit of diablo 2 (looked more to baldurs gate (which i played for a long while, so it wasnt that i didnt enjoyed diablo2, it was just that i was enjoying other games more at the time)
