I am in the Northern Territory its pretty cool here well not cool temp wise actually its damn hot. Gonna have some cool pics and vids to post when I get back home.
I tried some foods last night. All were just the straight meat with no spices etc I will rate them with a blerk rating 0 blerk = good 5 blerk = bad
Kangaroo = 5 blerks I have had this before but it was heavily spiced in a sausage the stuff I ate last night tasted off/rotten.
Wallaby = 4 blerks while not as bad as the kanga I ate it wasnt far from it.
Possum = 1 blerk I reckon I could actually live on this stuff it wasnt half bad tasted like a combination of beef and lamb.
Camel = 5 blerks as soon as this entered my mouth it came back out a horrible gamey taste that was just awful.
Crocodile = 0 blerk people say it tastes like chicken and I would have to agree to a point. While is has the look of chicken ( white meat ) the texture is different and I tasted a hint if fishiness. Would reccomend and eat again.
Emu = 0 blerk tastes much like any bird turkey like.
Buffalo = N/A after all the horrible shit I put in my mouth I just couldnt bring myself to eat this one but it would probably taste like a gamey beef.
The locals told me it is like beef but different and quite nice.
Edited to add Emu
WM out
dude...I have tucked into croc, kangaroo (quite frequently - living next to a butcher and all) and emu. I rate crocodile the highest, with asian style sauce it is awesome (though very expensive), kangaroo 2nd - but must be cooked rare - overcooking turns to rubber, and then emu - which is just bird. The idea of possum doesn't do much for me - i see too many squashed on the road around here to consider eating them.
blerk
here is a possum for the foreigners
like kangaroo cooked with worshishire sauce , tryed camel once that was disgusting .
Yeah it was called roadkill cafe that I got the food from so it probably was scraped off the road I am sure the Kangaroo was off/rotten as I cant imagine anyone eating it while it tastes like that, as I said I have had it before and it wasnt that bad.
Anyway Awesome 4 days in the top end everything is Big in NT the crocs the birds the fish the beers. Some pics the vids will be either in the next 2 days or the next month depending on how much editing the wife does in the next 3 days.
The only bad thing about the NT is the Abos maybe because Darwin is concentrated on a peninsula but there seemed to be a lot of them alcoholic and living in the parks etc. I feel sorry for them being trapped by white mans poison eg alcohol and ciggarettes.
The Abos in Darwin are heaps different to anywhere else I have come across they are warm and welcoming the ones I spoke to were heaps cool and told me of tourist sites that arnt on the maps etc.
There wont be any vids for weeks possibly months as the video camera has decided to not be recognised by the com USB probs maybe

cool pics of darwin
Some pics of the wetlands it looks quite boring but after the big wet comes the big dry and with the big dry comes the most dense predator population in the world. It was thought that africa with its big cats etc had the most predator per square kilometre ratio.
The wetlands after the wet hold millions of dusky rats and with millions of rats you need something to eat them which is millions of snakes ( water pythons ) Apparently not exact numbers but eg Africa with all its predators has 2 tonne per sqk of predator whereas the wetlands has 8 tonne per sqk.
Thats a lot of friggin snakes and not many ever get to see them as it all happens undercover and at night apparently only the crazy scientists are stupid enough to venture out in the wetlands at night while this is going on.
