Hey Guys,
I got my valid cd key from my mom today and I'm trying to download a copy of ron gold edition online. So that means pretty soon I'll be playing it ) and it looks very different from vanilla ron. I was wondering if you could all give me some advice or tips so it can speed up my learning curve. )
Many thanks!
dont die fast in a 3v3, really screws over ur team )
Well THAT still applies to Vanilla RON. ;)
I mean, I know there are new nations, new governments and stuff...but when I played it briefly before, it actually looked different. Anyhow, I was just wondering some things that were important to know with regards to the transition and since you guys probably started in Vanilla and went there, I was humbly seeking your advice. )
First thing is make sure you research Slave labour and fence building asap, also place Guard dogs at all wood camps and Mines, also be aware of lions and tigers, they like to eat your citzens, prob the last bit of advice is to build Monk units, the Paladin units are no good so don't build them, and make sure you use Eagles, train them well they are worth 3 scout units ), that should help you out a lot on RoN T&P
Sounds a lot like age of empires D
THANKS Blood of Damn that was JUST what I was looking for! KUDOS for you! P
how cum i dont get kudos evil
Give me some advice about t&p and I'll think about it. ;)
do i get kudos for telling you Blood was talkin out his ass? None of that shit is in TAP its pretty much the same dude...
ROFL!!!!!! BLOOD THAT WAS FUCKING HILARIOUS, anyway it was a lie gisa none of those units exist rofl...when u get on tap i will try to show u some stuff so get ready for a lot of knowledge cramming. even flash couldnt gather all i was telling him P
Hi gisa!
I try to give you some hints for TP
1. Use the usual tech order (Sci1, civic1, 2nd city, com 2, market , 100 food/wood income, mil1, classic)
Why? This way you get into classic in a decent time with a good eco. Any other tech (getting sci2 in I or civic 2) is a high risk.
Because In TP the opponent can get a senate and his patriot unit (like a general) in early II. That means armor bonus for the units and the generals abilities (ambush! force march)! ) is available in early II. If you get to II slowly, you just have bad chances in a fight against an army with a patriot.
Same applies to raiding A horse archer raiding you is bad, but if he is accompanied by the patriot he can even use force march to run away from your light horse... .
2. Get the patriot soon when reached classic to get the bonuses; you need a small army too if you want to benefit from the patriot.
3. Early general means earlier agression, so you need a mixed army early ( get stable immediately and barracks soon after).
4. Usually choose the despot. It makes infantery and mil-techs cheaper. Good for agressive play. And agressive playing is good playing usually.
5. Beware of (and use) the new nations powers.
a)Irokese are great ancient raiders and have a nasty attack in II. They are weak boomers, but get a nasty scout-unit in V.
b)Persians and indians get have elephants (great vs HI).
The counter units are HA,archers (LI from IV too).
They are strongest in IV and V, when you can have another type of patriot from the senate, the monarch (makes stable units cheaper and gives them extra armor). A mixed force of eles, HC with a monarch-patriot and the tactics line from the fort is nearly stoppable.
c) Dutch are good boomers and can make a caravan/merchant raid in ancient, cause these units are armed.
d) Americans can spam infantery and often get the terrecotta army (instant wonder)
e) Lakota are hard to play in the beginning, but good boomers with some extra strategic options (check the playback section, there you can see a rec with a good lakota start).
6. Conclusion
a)There is earlier agression, game can be decided early.
b)The new nations are all strong.
Haha Flash, I knew that Blood was f.o.s. but I was just playing along with him. I'll give you some kudos for the kind thought though. )
Thank you Galahad for the info! I'll learn more about it as time goes on...I am just installing it now and hope to get it working soon! D
See you all online sometime! D
