Yesterday, I got two wisdom teeth pulled.

Both on my left side (one upper and one lower).

The bottom one had been growing into my molar causing my jaw noticeable pain at times.

The dentist injected 3 needles into my left cheek...man those hurt! Then after 20 minutes, he pulled them out. The top one came out in a minute, the bottom 15 minutes later.

Could taste the blood going down, but couldn't feel anything.

Then the anaesthetic wore off.

Holy @#(*$&#@$ was I in pain!

Took some medicine and that helped.

Woke up today, kinda sore (blood on the side of my face c/o drooling when I was asleep). At least I can't taste blood...very sore and painful though, but not as bad as last night.

Gonna eat soon and take those awesome drugs. Drugs are good kids! D

I don't know why they call them wisdom teeth. They should call them man teeth. If you get them pulled and endure, truly you are a man! D

Crap, I gotta get two more done in a month or so...

Any advice from anyone here who has had them pulled?

I think that the process is the same. They inject a local anaesthetic, pull out your tooth in some manner or form and voila. ) Did you bleed a lot?

I had the same problem you did with my wisdom tooth. I'd wake up, be in a fair bit of pain and then it'd die down by the afternoon. This has been on and off for the past few years...didn't think too much of it (thought I slept badly or slept on my jaw wrong) but when it happened again the other day, and more painful than before I went to the dentist and after an xray, he suggested getting all 4 pulled. Only one was directly impacting my other tooth but he said the other 3 have a higher tendancy to get cavities, b/c they are so far back. I figured since he was pulling one, why not double my fun? D

Go see the dentist Mongey...if you leave it in for too long it's harder to get out and could cause some serious problems.

Pain is only good to show how great it is NOT to be in pain! D

From what I recall, he used a pair of tweezers, a drill, pliers possibly and maybe a hammer. I couldn't see because they put a face cloth over my face. I could feel him crushing my upper tooth but I'm glad it came out so easily. I was starting to worry about the bottom one...because it took about 20 mins. Apparently, for some people, it can take 2 hours! O

I'm just glad we live in a day and age where we have anaesthetic, tools, trained surgeons, general recovery procedures, etc...could you imagine getting this done in the 1700's? O

p.s. on the plus side, I might play some RON and play well because I'm in a bit of pain at times and my wife doesn't want me to study for obvious reasons. But at the moment, I'm drugged and HAPPPPPPPPPPPY! D

LOL @ Fedomar. I thought that too...I got to be a vampire for a day or two.

I'm still on medication and it's not so bad now. I suspect I'll be back to normal in a week or so.

I didn't know this but the removal of wisdom teeth was a way to obtain forced confessions long ago...

p.s. I have to get two more pulled sometime next month. After that, once I start working again, I'll have to get some molars replaced. I agree with the doctor that the mercury one's must have gone sour by now...maybe my health will improve too, who knows? D

I got these fillings about 20 years ago. From what I've read, the mercury in them is toxic, although most disagree. I do believe my health would improve though if I got them replaced (and I will).

I think I'll go pimp/playa style and get gold fillings. D
