World in Conflict

1st impressions about Empire Total war

thinks i liked
Options menu
- a decent options menu u can change nearly everything there, and the option i found there and that i love in games is the simple "windows mode" ^^

- requeriments i got a old computer so i was a litle afraid i couldnt even run the game, but with everything on low it runs well, the loading times takes a litle but once at the game it works well.

Now about the gameplay
-Controling land units wasnt a very easy task for me i had some troubles placing the groups of units on the exact line i wanted, i might had miss some extra comand for that
-artilhary is cool and inflects a lots of damage and its easy to use, realistic on the way that somethimes shots miss, the issue i found here was that i wasnt able to move them s they simple didnt want to move from the place they were... this might be because it was a tutorial but i dont know..

-now at the sea, the ships got nice controls, but they are so slow -_-' at the batle u can keep rotation the enemy boat while firing on your cannons(u have to control when u should fire) and u can aboard the enemy ships your mens will atack the enemy on his boat pretty cool stuff.

still its a litle soon to say if the game is worthy or not \ and the game type doesnt seam to be very good for multiplayer

Re: World in Conflict

Thanks a lot for the great post on page one Flash. I almost completely agree with everything you said there. Kudos was supposed to be a fun feature and no political instrument. Maybe we should try with a fresh start and less options for abuse. But if you all agree to get rid of it then this won't be a problem.

Cannot comment on WiC since I am not playing any more. I agree though that we need another RoN (as in a game that manages to create the same fascination for everybody like RoN did).

In addition to the games mentioned, I have dug up two more that might be of interest

Battleforge (in beta now, ETA march)
[img_l]http//images.gamestar.de/images/idgwpgsgp/bdb/1996342/449x.jpg[/img_l]
Game concept
Experience real-time strategy in a whole new dimension! Every battle is different, every army unique. Create your own fighting force from mighty creatures and powerful soldiers. Lead your army in epic online battles - together with your friends or against them!

Game modes
Fight alone in single-player missions or in a team with up to twelve participants. In addition to 1on1 duels, various tournament modes and a fiercely contested ranking list await you in PvP.

The Powers
Four powers determine the balance in the world of BattleForge. Each of these powers has its own special abilities, strengths and weaknesses. Use the full array of spells, magical constructs and powerful units for your strategy. Surprise your opponents with a perfectly armed fighting force - for every battle situation.

Power cards
The cards represent your tools of war units, buildings and spells that are conjured directly onto the battlefield. Assemble the perfect fighting force before the battle, choosing from your ever-increasing collection, and lead it into the battle. Rare cards open up completely new tactics for you and are highly sought after for swapping at the in-game market place!
Your objectives

Epic campaigns in a war-torn fantasy world await you! Defeat Legends in PvE and add them to your card collection. Or challenge other players to a hard-fought PvP match to improve your ranking and win unique prizes!
The battle goes on!

The world of BattleForge never sleeps! You will always find new players in the BattleForge community and new challenges. At regular intervals, new cards will be released, featuring original units and further tactical possibilities. Exciting campaigns and missions fill the world of BattleForge and will keep enriching its history over time.

Men of War
(released, multiplayer in beta now)

Re: World in Conflict

I think none of its really neccessary anymore its only a problem when I do Kudos which I wont be doing anymore. But Kudos has lost its meaning if it had any in the first place so bin it and put the music player back in its spot.

As for WIC I will be playing it with Col, Ladjs and the others in the clan there until a new game is found.

yeah ok but they say ya vull in the game trailer....

That would be "jawohl" I guess... a more emphasizing expression for "yes" (often used in military). I'd translate it with "yes sir!" or "affirmative".

World in Conflict

I'm looking for a game that has good multi and doesnt have high system requirements. Empire Total War has high system requirements and those two games posted above probably lack a good multi. HEEEEEELLLLP! Anyone know a good game for me? I'm bored in the weekends as I then dont have my PS a disposal (

chess online doesnt require a good system and has good multi, it also requires some degree of skill and tactics
